Playing an integral part in the protection team, as a Commercial Manager you will manage the day to day commercial activities for the Protection Proposition. You will support the leadership team in ensuring that the protection proposition aligns with the financial objectives of the business, the customer and our distribution partners. You will be at the forefront of new ways of working as well as playing a significant part to help drive commercial outlook to become a top 3 provider over our 3 year strategy.

What you'll be doing:

  • Monitor Protection trading performance, and identify performance improvement opportunities. Understand impact of actions on forecast trading results.
  • Numerate problem-solver able to model and analyse the commercial consequences of past, present and future business activities.
  • Proactive monitoring of competitive position using a range of analytical tools, and providing recommendations to achieve desired market position/financial outcomes
  • Support pricing strategy, including pricing principles, value for money, anticipated market/competitor movements
  • In depth knowledge of the profit and loss results, and drivers of value
  • Support to the senior leadership team to provide recommendations on commercials for key distribution accounts including commission, individual pricing, campaign support based on knowledge of business
  • Identify opportunities to develop market participation based on in depth understanding of the protection market and our proposition
  • Support the development of business cases for protection propositions

What you’ll need:

  • Strong technical and analytical skills
  • Confident self-worker
  • Proactive and able to prioritise competing objectives
  • Track record of delivering results on projects
  • Business acumen - good knowledge of the Protection market,
  • Strong judgement and problem solving skills
  • High level of stakeholder management, influencing and communication skills
  • Track record of Self development
