Sberbank boasts record profits for 1st half this year. Sberbank recorded a net profit of RUB 53.6 billion for 6M 2011 (approx. US$ 1.85 billion, up 113.5%)! This is huge growth for the largest bank in Russia. Is Russia's economy strong enough to compete?
Sberbank is considered the top bank in Russia. Where did these profits come from? Was it from investment in the housing sector, or effective loans being lent out? Whatever Sberbank is doing they need to keep it up!
